1st ever Whitney's Legends Show

HUGE SUCCESS!! PHOTOS coming soon! On Saturday night, August 9th we had our first ever Legends Show. A big congratulations goes out to all 22 acts that performed and to our winner "The Blues Brothers" which consisted of Bobby Dean and his sidekick Sean. Second place went to "Elvis" as performed by Kevin Stroud. Everyone put on a fabulous show and "Reba" even made an appearance in the famous red dress! Other "Legends" that appeared were Cher, Charlie Daniels, Waylon Jennings, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Greg Allman, Natalie Merchant, Aretha Franklin, Alanis Morrisette, Juice Newton, Donna Summer, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Gretchen Wilson, Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Jimmy Buffett! The audience voted the winner and we had a packed HOUSE! Next Legends show is tentatively scheduled to be held in January 2009. The rules: You must pre-register at the cafe`, information will include your name, phone number and press release. You must tell us who you intend to perform as so we can print the programs and show line up. You MUST dress the part to be able to compete. You need to have 2 songs picked out. These songs must come from our selections due to licensing. * One to compete with and one to use for a tie breaker The more you "act" the part, the better chance you have of winning! No vulgar or offensive material will be allowed. The contest will be open to ages 21 and up, as the show starts at 8pm and will run long after 9. The grand prize winner received a cash prize, trophy and title Whitney's Karaoke Legend. Winner also agrees to allow photographs to be published of the event. It is alot of fun and I hope everyone plans on being there to support their local "stars".
